Canberra dream pop/shoegaze band Vanishing Sound release their hook-filled, fuzzed-out debut single ‘From Today’, taken from their forthcoming album due later this year through Spitting.img Records.

Emerging from the basements, closed-down venues, and storied underground history of the Australian Capital Territory, Vanishing Sound is a supergroup of Canberra DIY fixtures featuring members of TV Colours, Earache, Assassins 88, Danger Beach, Dog Name, Territory, Slug and New Age Group.

Creating music that is simultaneously glittering and moody, Vanishing Sound marry the fog of dream pop and the fuzz of shoegaze with the pop-driven sensibilities of early Flying Nun and kindred ‘80s and ‘90s alternative heroes, textural atmospherics of detuned guitars and gliding synths giving way to hooky melodies and female/male harmonies.

‘From Today’ is 3 minutes of hook-filled, fuzzed-out elation, just in time for the final days of summer.
