SPT.IMG.003 – Assassins 88 – Nowhere

Canberra’s DIY noise-pop pioneers, Assassins 88, return in 2025 with “Nowhere,” their first single in over a decade. Known for their raw energy and chaotic live shows, they made waves with their 2009 debut Go Go Second Chance Virgin, a lo-fi mix of punk and greaser pop. This time, the band explores themes of time, disillusionment, and faded dreams. With a shift from their earlier abrasive sound, “Nowhere” offers a slower, more atmospheric reflection on suburban alienation and growing older.

“Nowhere” features Mike Bylstra (Teddy Trouble, Golden Buoy, Minimum Chips) on synthesiser. Written, recorded and mixed by Assassins 88. Mastered by David Forcier.
